PrEP only works if you take it. If you’re on oral PrEP, don’t wait until your prescription runs out before scheduling your next appointment. If you have trouble taking your pills as prescribed, talk to your doctor about ways you can improve adherence. You might consider long-acting PrEP if adherence continues to be an issue. It’s important to receive Apretude injections on schedule, but you’ll be able to think about PrEP six times a year instead of everyday.
