Pedro (2008)
Pedro Zamora became an instant star when the openly HIV-positive gay man joined the cast of MTV’s The Real World and won the hearts of viewers everywhere. In doing so, he patiently taught lessons on the virus and transmission and had become an LGBT icon by the time he died shortly after the series aired. This intimate biopic traces Pedro’s childhood in a close-knit Cuban family and his eventual coming-out process—as a gay man and a person living with HIV.
