Canadians with a special government photo ID can -- as of July 30 -- legally possess marijuana for medical purposes. But they can’t legally buy it until next year, when a government-backed growing factory will open. The, er, plant will also provide seeds for home farming. A certificate from a doc is required to get the card, although the Canadian Medical Association, opposes the program.
