Anthony Perkins
Perkins is best known for his role as Norman Bates in Alfred Hitchcock’s 1960 film Psycho. He died on September 12, 1992, of AIDS-related complications, after having kept his diagnosis a secret from most of the world for two years. When he died, a statement was released on his behalf. It read: “I chose not to go public about this, because to misquote Casablanca, I’m not much at being noble, but it doesn’t take too much to see that the problems of an old actor don’t amount to a hill of beans in this crazy old world.”
