Drug Indication
Rukobia is approved for use as part of combination treatment for HIV. It is not yet included in the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) Antiretroviral Guidelines for Adults and Adolescents. General Info
Rukobia is in a category of HIV medicines known as attachment inhibitors. It targets a different step of the viral lifecycle and may be an option for indiviuals with HIV that has become resistant to other drugs.
Rukobia was approved in July 2020. It had previously been granted FDA fast track and breakthrough therapy designations, which expedited the development and review of the medication.
