Young heartthrob Zac Efron made headlines for dropping a condom on the red carpet while attending the premier of his new movie, Dr. Seuss’ The Lorax.

While I’m not exactly sure why this is breaking news -- and the jury is still out on whether or not this was simply a publicity stunt on the part of the actor and his publicist -- I do applaud the 24-year old Efron for reminding his fans and the rest of the world of the importance of playing safe.

Having one’s name associated with safer sex isn’t a bad thing -- perhaps Ashton Kutcher should take note.
