On November 7, Playbill presented the third annual benefit concert Remember the Ribbon: A Tribute to World AIDS Day. Gilead Sciences was the premier sponsor. This year, funds are being raised for GLAAD to support its work in HIV advocacy.
Held at Sony Hall in New York City, the event featured storytellers and songs celebrating both people living with HIV and those lost to AIDS.
ABC7 entertainment correspondent and Plus Life Media cofounder Karl Schmid hosted the event with appearances by Carolee Carmello (1776), André Jordan (Diana The Musical), Darius Anthony Harper (Kinky Boots), Colin Cunliffe (Paradise Square) and Anthony Wayne (Tina). Ariana DeBose and Judith Light made virtual appearances. Chita Rivera was in attendance.
The event was co-directed by Bryan Campione and Leonard Rodino, with music by Broadway Sings, led by producer Corey Mach and music director Joshua Stephen Kartes.
