On Sunday, December 15th The Sero Project on Instagram shared the following about Cindy Stine, a long-time, fierce and beloved advocate for those impacted by HIV criminalization laws:

"It is with profound sadness that we share the heartbreaking news of the passing of our beloved Cindy Stine, who transitioned this morning at 1:37 am. Our hearts go out to her family- Elizabeth, Noah, Jaimee and Eric.

Cindy was more than just a friend, co-worker, and advocate; she was a beacon of strength, compassion, and unwavering dedication. To everyone who had the privilege of knowing her, Cindy embodied kindness, resilience, and an unshakeable commitment to justice and equity for all, particularly for those who have been marginalized and overlooked by society.

Her legacy is deeply woven into the projects she poured her heart and soul into- Turn It Up!! Staying Strong Inside and the Holiday Card Project. These initiatives reflected her profound love for others and her passion for uplighting the most vulnerable, especially those who are incarcerated or system-impacted. Through these efforts, Cindy brought hope and dignity to countless individuals, reminding them that they were seen, valued, and loved.

While the void Cindy leaves behind is immense, her spirit will continue to inspire us. We will honor her memory by carrying forward the work she championed, striving to mirror her commitment to making the world a kinder, more just place.

Cindy’s light will be deeply missed, but her love and impact will remain with us forever."
