Effective April 2014, doctors living with HIV in the United Kingdom will no longer be banned from performing surgical procedures, The Telegraph reports. The new rules allow physicians, dentists and other health care workers to conduct such procedures if they are taking antiretroviral treatment and have an undetectable viral load. A physician will monitor them every three months. Officials say medical advances justify lifting the ban.
