The United Church of Christ (UCC) has created an online faith-based HIV/AIDS prevention curriculum, according to a UCC statement. It was launched during National Week of Prayer for the Healing of AIDS. The UCC’s Affirming Persons—Saving Lives stresses abstinence from both sex and drug use, but it also provides explicit HIV prevention information. The 11-booklet curriculum includes HIV/AIDS information from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the Department of Health and Human Services, the Public Health Service and the World Health Organization. UCC is the largest Christian denomination in the United States supporting same-sex marriage.
