The annual Dining Out for Life fundraising event takes place Thursday, April 28. For the event, more than 3,000 restaurants across the country will donate a portion of the day’s proceeds to local HIV/AIDS organizations. The event raises more than $4 million each year, which goes to about 60 AIDS groups.
Founded in 1991 by ActionAIDS in Philadelphia, Dining Out for Life is now sponsored by Subaru; celebrity spokespeople include Food Network host Ted Allen, actress Pam Grier, fashion designer Mondo Guerra and chef Daisy Martinez.
