Lawrence A. Siebert of Chembio Diagnostics Inc. will retire from his roles as chief executive officer and president effective May 11, 2014, according to a Chembio statement. The board of directors has begun a search for a new CEO. Siebert has been with Chembio for 21 years, including 11 years as CEO. Chembio develops, manufactures, licenses and markets rapid tests for various infectious diseases, including HIV. Alere Inc. markets Chembio’s two rapid HIV tests in the United States, which are approved for use by the Food and Drug Administration.
