The Treatment Action Group (TAG) has organized the first Hepatitis C World Community Advisory Board Meeting with the support of several other international disease advocacy organizations. The meeting was held from February 22 to 25 in Bangkok, Thailand. More than 40 international activists strategized how to increase international treatment access for the hepatitis C virus (HCV). Key issues addressed included intellectual property, patent updates, pharmaceutical negotiations and outreach to at-risk populations. Activists represented the Asia Pacific Network of People Living with HIV/AIDS (APN+), the Open Society Institute, the World Health Organization (WHO), Medécins du Monde, and the Global Network of People Living with HIV/AIDS (GNP+).
