The Ministry of Finance and Economic Planning (MOFEP) of Ghana has launched an initiative to fight HIV in the workplace, according to a statement by the Ghanese government. The new guidelines are meant to help prevent and control the spread of HIV among government staff members and to build an environment free of stigma and discrimination. MOFEP says the spread of HIV within the ministry threatened the government’s ability to work and govern. The guidelines include information about testing, treatment and check ups.
