Bill Clinton praised the Desert AIDS Project and the Desert Regional Medical Center for their current HIV testing initiative, The Desert Sun reports. The former president made his remarks during a private breakfast at the third annual Health Matters conference of the Clinton Foundation, which was held in La Quinta, California. Get Tested Coachella Valley is a three-year, $5 million HIV testing initiative. Clinton said the program—a bilingual Spanish/English effort to test everyone in the valley for HIV through routine checkups, emergency room visits and mobile clinics—could be a model for others.
