With support from the Ford Foundation, AIDS United has granted nearly $1.4 million to 31 community-based organizations in nine Southern states to advocate for sound public HIV/AIDS policy, according to an AIDS United statement. The grants are part of the AIDS United Southern REACH (Regional Expansion of Access and Capacity to Address HIV/AIDS) initiative. The states include Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Louisiana, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina and Tennessee.
