The AIDS Foundation of Chicago (AFC) held it’s annual World of Chocolate fundraiser in Chicago on December 2. The 1,700 guests sampled sweet and savory snacks from 26 of Chicago’s restaurants, chocolatiers, and caterers and AFC raffled off tickets to a European destination, a 1920s themed staycation, and a chocolate-themed New York getaway. Guest of honor Illinois governor Pat Quinn was on hand to support AFC’s work and talk about the progress of a civil union law in the state. The event helped raise more than $170,000 to support the AFC and the fight against HIV and AIDS.
Guests savored chocolate-infused treats, such as chocolate mashed potatoes, caramel-sea salt truffles and red ribbon cookies.
