The HIV and Human Rights March during the XVIII International AIDS Conference (IAC) in Vienna is a call for human rights as a fundamental component of efforts to prevent new HIV cases and provide treatment for people living with the virus, according to an IAC statement. The march gives voice to the conference theme of “Rights Here, Rights Now.” Empowering women is of particular importance as a step toward the goal of providing universal access to HIV prevention, treatment and care.
