Sex tourism in Thailand, Indonesia and Papua New Guinea iscausing an increase in HIV rates in Queensland, Australia, the Courier Mailreports. In 2010, Queensland recorded its highest number of new HIV cases, andpublic health specialists warn that the numbers are still rising. According tothe Australian Medical Association, the increase is likely due to young mentraveling to neighboring countries on holiday and taking part in the boomingsex tourism trade. The health ministry is considering moving funds to raiseawareness about the increase in HIV rates.
