Very few women contract hepatitis C after becoming HIV positive, according to a large U.S. study (2,059 HIV positive and 569 negative women). Researchers found that most of the co-infected women had used IV drugs—and that their CD4 counts remained similar to those who have HIV but not that other “h” virus.
