Will Peter I. Greco live as long as Vincent I. Patrick? No way, if a University of California, San Diego, study of men’s initials proves true. Dr. Nicholas Christenfeld studied death certificates from 1969 to 1995, and determined that men whose initials form nasty acronyms, such as A.S.S. or U.G.H., die an average of 2.8 years sooner than those with meaningless initials. Also, fellows blessed with such upbeat initials as A.C.E., J.O.Y. or G.O.D. were apt to be around 4.48 years longer. Mysteriously, negative initials had no impact on women’s longevity. One last query: What about Harry I. Vance or Paul O. Zanuk?
