The ACLU filed a lawsuit on behalf of the Hispanic AIDS Forum, which was evicted from its New York City offices after a tenant complained that transgendered visitors were using the “wrong bathroom.” HAF charges that being booted to a nearby (nicer) neighborhood has hampered its ability to reach its clients. Jackson Heights, HAF’s home base for 10 years, boasts a mix of gay and Latino residents -- and one of the highest infection rates in the city.
