A St. Louis couple found guilty of knowingly exposinganother person to HIV, a felony that carries a possible 15-year prison term,are seeking a new trial, St. Louis Today reports. Kerry Lynn Hanson and hisgirlfriend, Angela Marie Niemczyk, were found guilty after allegedly engagingin a foursome with an 18-year-old woman and her boyfriend at a Mardi Gras partyin St. Louis. Neither Hanson nor Niemczyk disclosed that Hanson was HIVpositive at the time of the encounter. Days later, the 18-year-old womanlearned of Hanson’s status and was subsequently tested. She has never testedpositive for HIV. Hanson and Niemczyk have said that Hanson and the woman neveractually had sex and the charges are false.
