Malaysia has been chosen to host the seventh IAS Conference on HIV Pathogenesis, Treatment and Prevention (IAS 2013), becoming the first Asian country to host the event, according to an International AIDS Society (IAS) statement. Held every two years, the conference examines the latest developments in HIV research and ways to advance the global response to the pandemic. It’s expected that the location will bring in experts from neighboring Asian countries and that the convention will generate $25 million for the Malaysian economy. The conference will be held June 30 to July 3, 2013, in Kuala Lumpur.
