The National Viral Hepatitis Roundtable (NVHR) has released a preliminary version of its 2012 Candidate Survey, detailing various Congressional candidates’ positions on viral hepatitis and health care issues. Candidates were asked to review their positions on U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) funding for viral hepatitis-related testing, surveillance, education and vaccination programs; the Viral Hepatitis Testing Act; the Affordable Care Act; overturning the ban on federal funding for needle exchange programs; and implementation of the Action Plan for the Prevention and Treatment of Viral Hepatitis. NVHR is asking members of the viral hepatitis communities to contact the organization, in an effort to encourage other candidates to complete and return the survey.
