Since spring 2002, seven people have died of AIDS while on waiting lists for AIDS Drug Assistance Programs (ADAP). The names of the PWAs—five in Kentucky and two in West Virginia—remain confidential to protect families’ privacy. A caseworker who assisted several said she had helped them get meds from Pharma programs and nonprofits—but options were too slim. To join the Save ADAP Committee, click on www.atac-usa.org/adap.html or call Project Inform’s Ryan Clary at 415.558.8669, ext. 224.
