An HIVer got a fourth strike in March, when the U.S. Supreme Court ruled that a minor, nonviolent offense can count as a repeat offender’s “third strike” under California’s law. The Supremes said 25 years to life is not cruel and unusual punishment for Gary Albert Ewing, who stuffed three golf clubs worth a total of $1,200 down his pant legs. For this interrupted golfer, there will be no fore.
