In advance of the annual National Asian & Pacific Islander HIV/AIDS Awareness Day on Friday, May 18, the Banyan Tree Project (BTP) has launched an initiative to end HIV stigma and discrimination among Asian Americans, Native Hawaiians and Pacific Islanders, according to a BTP statement. In partnership with the Center for Digital Storytelling, “Taking Root: Our Stories, Our Community” is a video project featuring stories from HIV-positive people in the Asian-American, Native Hawaiian and Pacific Islander communities.
