AIDS is no laughing matter, the Funny Girl’s foundation decided last August, when it granted $15,000 to San Francisco’s Gay and Lesbian Medical Association (GLMA) for its “HIV Public Policy Initiative.” The program, designed to increase the impact of HIV-savvy physicians on AIDS policy, was approved by La Barbra herself. “What a fabulous partner to have in our fight to eradicate HIV!” said GLMA president Dr. Michael Horberg.
