The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) has announced almost $80 million in grants nationwide to increase access to care for people with HIV/AIDS, according to an HHS statement. About $69 million will support the Ryan White AIDS Drug Assistance Program (ADAP) in 25 states and territories. The more than $10 million remaining will go to Ryan White community-based health clinics to expand access to care for 14,000 people with HIV/AIDS. An additional $6 million in supplemental funding will be available later this year to states that show continued need.
