Nadja Benaissa, a member of the all-girl German pop band No Angels, was charged with causing serious bodily harm for allegedly having unprotected sex with at least three men without disclosing that she is HIV positive, The Daily Telegraph reports.
The prosecutor’s office said one man has tested HIV positive and that Benaissa, 26, is the prime suspect for transmitting the virus to him. She was arrested April 11 just before a concert in Frankfurt, at which she was scheduled to perform. No Angels manager Khalid Schroeder has refused to comment.
The group—which has sold more than 5 million records since forming in 2000—represented Germany at the 2008 Eurovision Song Contest, finishing 23rd in the final voting.
