A Canadian jury has found Michael Pearce guilty of manslaughter in the beating death of his HIV-positive boyfriend, Stuart Mark, the Winnipeg Free Press reports. Pearce admitted to the January 2007 slaying of Mark, but later claimed he was coerced into a bogus confession. Mark, 36, was found bludgeoned to death inside his home. Pearce, 43, went to police in July 2007 and took responsibility for the death. He claimed the killing took place after he became upset when Mark revealed he had HIV. Pearce will be sentenced later this year. He will remain free on bail, as he has been for nearly five years.
