The board of directors of the San Francisco AIDS Foundation (SFAF) has approved the first-ever health and wellness center in the city for gay and bisexual men, according to an SFAF statement. The facility would bring three SFAF programs for sexual health, substance use counseling and prevention efforts into one location. An SFAF study found that the facility would create efficiencies, expand capacity and accelerate efforts to reduce new HIV cases. SFAF has entered into a conditional agreement to locate the facility at 474 Castro Street, across from the Castro Theatre. The scale of the project will require approval from the San Francisco Board of Supervisors and significant funding.
