Kevin Maloney, the founder of the “Rise Up to HIV” and “No Shame About Being Positive” campaigns, has set an initial fundraising goal of $6,000 to expand the reach of his anti-stigma efforts. The funds will support establishing Rise Up to HIV as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, which will allow Maloney to apply for grants. The funds also will support expansion of riseuptohiv.org to archive the personal stories from the No Shame campaign. In 2010, Maloney tested positive for HIV and hepatitis C. He has since reached an undetectable HIV viral load and has cured his hep C. Maloney launched Rise Up to HIV in 2011 and No Shame About Being Positive in 2013.
