The U.S. Department of State and the National Institutes of Health will give $7.5 million over the next two years to support projects that will help the President’s Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR) better implement programs to prevent mother-to-child transmission (PMTCT) of HIV, according to a statement by the State Department. The expectation is that by studying how to better implement programs, researchers can find evidence-based solutions to help overcome current barriers facing PMTCT programs.
