Paris Hilton Says Most Gay Guys 'Probably Have AIDS'

In an audiotape, Paris Hilton is heard perpetuating the myth that most gay men have AIDS, RadarOnline.com reports. A New York City taxi driver who had the Hilton Hotels heiress and a gay male friend in his backseat recorded the audiotape.

Hilton says, “Gay guys are the horniest people in the world. They’re disgusting. Dude, most of them probably have AIDS…. I would be so scared if I were a gay guy. You’ll, like, die of AIDS.” Her comments were in response to her gay male friend, who earlier was describing Grindr, a dating mobile app for gay men.

A statement by a Hilton spokesperson said, “The conversation became heated after a close gay friend told her in a cab ride a story about a gay man who has AIDS and is knowingly having unprotected sex…. It was not her intent to make any derogatory comments about all gays.”

UPDATE: In a statement to GLAAD, Hilton offers her apology: "I am so sorry and so upset that I caused pain to my gay friends, fans and their families.... It is the last thing that I would ever want to do and I cannot put into words how much I wish I could take back every word. HIV/AIDS can hurt anyone, gay and straight, men and women. It's something I take very seriously and should not have been thrown around in conversation."

Again, Paris' words aren't that insulting when you think about it. Most of these app users probably are poz. The mass delusion of the gay community, that you can meet strangers for anonymous BB sex on your phone and remain "clean" is far more insulting than her unscripted gossip. It's about time someone had the common sense to bring HIV back down to earth as an STD. Too bad even this magazine is attacking the one person who did it.

While I don't agree with what Paris said, or more to how she said it, I have heard the same comments from members of the gay community here. Guys here lie about their status and have unprotected sex and there are negative guys here looking for BB sex and taken their partner's word that they are negative. While lying is not justified, my own experience is that the gay community here is just as discriminatory as ever. People still refuse to friend or date poz people, its sad.

it's obvious Paris needs an education. I believe she meant what she said because she thought no one was listening. Now that she knows someone was and it was taped so she can not deny her statements she had to apologize to get the egg off her face.

Why is anyone shocked or angered by yet another display of Paris Hilton's ignorance? It was a private conversation. We all say things that are cruel or not p.c. when we are with those we assume are "friends." And let's not forget with all the Internet hookup sites, the message sadly is that some gay men are sex obsessed.
