New federal funding will train nurses and physician assistants on HIV/AIDS care, according to a statement by Rutgers University, which is one of five organizations to receive the support. The Health Resources and Services Administration of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services has awarded Rutgers a five-year, $1.5 million grant to expand the number of nurse practitioners trained in HIV/AIDS care, especially for minority, inner city and urban populations.
