LGBT migrants with HIV from throughout Latin America are increasingly crossing the southern border of Mexico, The Christian Science Monitor reports. Activists say the migrants are seeking access to health care for treating the virus and safety from anti-LGBT violence. The nonprofit group Una Mano Amigo en la Lucha Contra SIDA (A Friendly Hand in the Fight Against AIDS) provides the migrants with information about applying for refugee status in Mexico and advocates for their rights.
