Manchester Docs Pressured to Get Tested?
Soon-to-be doctors in the UK’s Greater Manchester area are being pressured into taking HIV tests if they want to work in the National Health Service, the Manchester Evening News reports.
Standard guidelines only require HIV tests for docs performing potentially risky procedures such as surgery. But now general practitioners and even psychiatrists are being urged to get tested—and without pre-test screening, according to junior doctors who were subjected to the blanket screening.
