An HIV-positive inmate in Kentucky faces assault and attempted murder charges for allegedly throwing urine at a corrections officer, WAVE 3 News reports. In an interview with the TV channel, Charles Clark says he threw his urine under a door at Louisville Metro Corrections not to hit the officer but to help a friend get biohazard cleanup pay. He tested positive for the virus in 2010 while already incarcerated for previous charges. Unless blood is present, urine does not contain high enough levels of HIV to pose a risk of transmission.
