According to a report released May 20, 50 to 100 people in Vietnam become HIV positive each day, online newspaper VietNamNet Bridge reports (english.vietnamnet.vn, 5/21).
The report, titled Considering the AIDS Situation in Asia: Sketching an Effective Response, was released by Deputy Minister of Health Trinh Quan Huan and JVR Prasada Rao, director of UNAIDS’s Asia-Pacific Regional Assistance Office.
The report found that people between the ages of 20 and 39 account for more than 78 percent of people living with HIV in Vietnam. It also showed that AIDS is the leading cause of death among people of working age in Asia.

"I'm HIV positive and diabetic (as well as have high cholesterol) and some of my meds specify taking them with 'high fat foods' which I have to do twice a day. I've eaten as healthy as possible, but when it comes to high fat foods, I am in a quandary...about what to eat sometimes..."
