The Harlem United board of directors announced that Jacqui Kilmer is the new CEO of the New York City community health care center as of January 1, according to a press release from Harlem United.

Her immediate goals are to improve access and quality of care for all clients and to oversee the opening of Harlem United’s new health care facility on 133rd Street.

Kilmer joined the organization in 2010 and has worked as its chief operating officer and chief compliance officer. Previously, she was a partner in a regional law firm in Denver where she did pro bono legal representation, lobbying and advocacy work for the Colorado AIDS Project and other AIDS-related groups.

Founded in 1988, Harlem United provides HIV prevention, housing and care services for people of all ethnicities and income levels; it has grown into a full-fledged community health center with primary care doctors, dentists, support groups, advocacy work and day care programs for children. It serves more than 15,000 clients each year and has annual revenues of nearly $41 million.
