Georgia Eliminates Its ADAP Waiting List
The waiting list for the AIDS Drug Assistance Program (ADAP) in Georgia has been reduced to zero, The Associated Press reports. Reaching a high point of 1,600 people, the current list was erased using $8.4 million in emergency federal funding. More than 350 people previously using ADAP were put into an insurance pool for people with pre-existing conditions, which is part of the health care reform law. Advocates are concerned that the list may return if federal budget cuts are implemented.
