Circumcision Funds Unused in Zimbabwe
Funds for male circumcision as HIV prevention in Zimbabwe are going unused because not enough men are volunteering for the procedure, IRIN reports. The country had planned to circumcise about 3 million men by the end of 2015, but so far less than 10 percent of that goal has been met. The Zimbabwe circumcision program was introduced in 2009. The country has received about $15 million from the U.S. President’s Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR) for voluntary medical circumcision.
