A civil lawsuit alleges age and HIV discrimination in the hiring of domestic workers by Howard Lutnick, CEO of the New York–based financial services firm Cantor Fitzgerald, his wife Allison Lutnick and his private chef Andy Weller. Adrian Barrie Smith, a consultant who helps families find butlers and housekeepers, makes several claims. Smith alleges that Weller asked six butlers during interviews how old they were and if they were married. He also alleges that Weller told him after the interviews that any butler hired would have to take an HIV test. In addition, Smith claims that Weller told him the Lutnicks “tell me what to do and what to say.” The plaintiff seeks up to $100,000 in compensation for losing money, being made fun of and being called a liar.
