The AIDS Service Center NYC is movin’ on up. Specifically, ASCNYC moved this week from its Union Square space to a larger Midtown Manhattan office at 64 W. 35th St., according to an announcement from the AIDS service organization.

Launched in 1990, ASCNYC started as a multi-service group to help HIV-positive New Yorkers. Today, the agency helps its client do more than battle the virus. It helps folks turn their lives around by staying healthy and connected to care, but ASCNYC also offers peer education and outreach, women’s services, spiritual outreach and programs that help people find housing, recover from addiction and get back in the workforce.

According to ASCNYC executive director Sharon I. Duke, the organization has more than 90 staff, 85 peer interns and a budget of nearly $8 million. More than 1,800 clients use ASCNYC’s services each year, but the group reaches another 18,000 New Yorkers through its various outreach programs.
