UK Adults Increasingly Lack Basic HIV Awareness
A new study shows an increasing proportion of adults in the United Kingdom incorrectly believe that HIV can be transmitted by kissing and spitting, according to a statement from the National AIDS Trust (NAT), which conducted the study. The data also shows that only 30 percent of adults can correctly identify all of the ways HIV can or cannot be transmitted and about 20 percent of adults don’t know HIV can be transmitted by sex without a condom, whether between men who have sex with women or men who have sex with men.
