The MAC AIDS Fund has raised more than $200 million to date through sales of its Viva Glam lipsticks and lipglasses, according to a MAC AIDS Fund statement. Lady Gaga, who was a Viva Glam spokesperson in 2010, will continue in that role in 2011. Her goal is to raise an additional $50 million by the XIX International AIDS Conference in July 2012. The 2011 recipients of the MAC AIDS Fund Empowerment Grants were also announced. The grants total more than $2 million. The grantees include the Washington AIDS Partnership’s Positive Pathways program, Emory University’s couples HIV voluntary counseling and testing programs in Chicago and Atlanta for men who have sex with men, the Centre for the AIDS Program of Research in South Africa, and the Thuthuzela Care Center Network in South Africa.
