The U.S. Supreme Court will decide whether an HIV-positive pilot can sue the federal government over losing his license, The Associated Press (AP) reports. Stanmore Cooper is suing for emotional distress over government mishandling of his medical records. The Social Security Administration passed along his HIV status to the Federal Aviation Administration, which revoked Cooper’s license. The lawsuit was deemed valid by the 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals. The government seeks to overturn that ruling.
