Friends in Deed, a New York City–based crisis center for people diagnosed with life-threatening illnesses, is changing the structure of its support groups, according to a Friends in Deed statement. Beginning Monday, March 7, their support groups will focus on specific topics, such as caregiving, cancer, HIV/AIDS, and grief and bereavement. The groups will still remain open to anyone who wishes to attend. Previously, support groups did not focus on an individual topic or disease.
